Lee Min (born Lee Min Young), a member of AsOne, has passed away at the age of 46.
According to a representative from her agency, Brand New Music, Lee Min was found dead at her home on the evening of Wednesday.
In a statement, the agency said, “Law enforcement is currently investigating the matter,” and asked the public to “refrain from speculation until the results are available.”
Lee Min debuted in 1999 with AsOne’s first album, Day By Day. The group rose to prominence in the early 2000s with a string of hits, including “You’re Welcome” and “I Want and I Regret.” The duo remained active until going on hiatus in 2017.
Just last month, on July 4, Lee Min made a surprise appearance on The Seasons: Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile on KBS2. She featured in a live performance alongside Korean entertainers Moon Se Yoon and Hanhae, highlighting her continued involvement in the music scene.
In 2013, Lee Min married in Hawaii. Her husband is two years older than her and previously worked in a corporate position.
