Byun Woo Seok has made headlines for his commitment to philanthropy by joining an elite group of high-value donors, solidifying his dedication to making a positive impact on society.

On Monday, the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, led by Chairman Song Pil Ho, announced that Byun Woo Seok had been inducted into the prestigious Hope Bridge Honors Club, a network reserved for major philanthropists.

The Hope Bridge Honors Club is an exclusive circle of donors who have contributed over 100 million KRW (approximately 72,500 USD) to the organization. Members of the club play a key role in national disaster relief efforts and are recognized as influential leaders in charitable giving.

Byun Woo Seok earned his spot in the club by donating 100 million KRW (about 72,500 USD) to support victims of the devastating forest fires that ravaged the Ulsan, North Gyeongsang, and South Gyeongsang regions of South Korea in April.

“I’m truly honored to be part of such a meaningful group like the Honors Club,” Byun Woo Seok shared. “Although my donation may seem small, I hope it can bring some relief and comfort to those in need. I’m committed to continuing to share support and kindness with others who could use a helping hand.”

Shin Hoon, the Secretary-General of Hope Bridge, praised Byun Woo Seok’s generosity, saying, “Donations from beloved public figures like Byun Woo Seok have a significant impact on society. We are excited to see how he, as a member of the Honors Club, will continue to inspire hope and create positive change through his influence.”

Byun Woo Seok made his acting debut in 2016 with the drama Dear My Friends. Since then, he has built an impressive portfolio with roles in popular dramas like Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, Moonshine, Live Up to Your Name, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.

However, it was last year’s Lovely Runner that catapulted him into the limelight. In the series, Byun Woo Seok played the role of Ryu Seon Jae, a promising swimmer and member of the fictional idol group Eclipse. His tall stature and charming looks quickly earned him a global fan base.

Looking ahead, Byun Woo Seok is set to star in the upcoming MBC drama The 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife, as well as Netflix’s highly anticipated adaptation of Solo Leveling.
