Dex is making serious strides in his acting career with his latest role in the upcoming drama The Men of the Harem, where he’ll star alongside Bae Suzy.

According to a report from MyDaily on Thursday, Dex has been cast as one of the male consorts in the high-concept fantasy romance, which unfolds in the fictional Tarim Empire. Based on the hit web novel by author Alpha Tart, the series follows Empress Latil (played by Bae Suzy) as she strategically takes on multiple male concubines to secure her throne and political power.

Dex’s casting as one of the Empress’s inner circle signals another key step in his fast-growing acting journey.

He made his acting debut last year in the U+ Mobile TV anthology Tarot, where he impressed audiences with his natural screen presence. His acting portfolio continues to expand in 2025, with roles in the ENA drama The Defects (premiering in July) and the SBS rom-com Kiss Me for No Reason (arriving in September). He’s also slated for a special guest appearance in Season 2 of Netflix’s action thriller Bloodhounds.

Despite his growing acting résumé, Dex hasn’t left his reality TV roots behind. After rising to fame on Netflix’s breakout dating show Single’s Inferno, he quickly became a household name in Korea, appearing in a string of popular variety shows like Fresh off the Sea, Bloody Game 2, Zombieverse, and Born to Travel the World.

Up next, Dex will step into hosting with SBS’s new K-pop boy group survival show B:MY BOYZ, which premieres this Saturday, adding yet another role to his ever-expanding list of talents.

From reality TV to scripted drama and now hosting, Dex continues to prove himself as one of the most versatile rising stars in the Korean entertainment industry. With every new challenge, fans are watching closely to see how he evolves and what unexpected role he’ll take on next.
