Park Bo Young recently opened up about the emotional aftermath of finishing her role in Our Unwritten Seoul, where she portrayed twin sisters with completely different personalities.
On Friday, a video featuring Park Bo Young and Park Jin Young was uploaded to Elle Korea’s YouTube channel. The two actors, who starred together in the popular drama Our Unwritten Seoul, answered questions from their fans in the video.
When asked about the sync rate between her characters, Miji and Mirae, and herself, Park Bo Young, who portrayed both twin sisters, explained, “I feel like Miji is about 60%, and Mirae is 40%. Miji is a bit more dominant in my personality.”
Park Jin Young, who played Ho Soo, shared his thoughts too, saying, “I’m naturally a talkative person who enjoys moving around, so I’d say I’m about 30% like my character.” Park Bo Young playfully responded, “You’re definitely chatty, but you’re also a great listener. I’d say you’re more like 50% of Ho Soo.”
With a laugh, Park Jin Young jokingly remarked, “It’s surprising that the sync rate with a good guy like me is only 50%,” to which Park Bo Young teased, “Well, you are a good guy!” Her comment cracked him up.
After the wrap of Our Unwritten Seoul, Park Bo Young reflected on the emotional toll of playing dual roles.
When asked if she experienced any post-drama withdrawal, she shared, “I often feel like I’m not alone anymore. Some days, I wonder, Should I be Miji today, or should I be Mirae? Should I bring some of Mirae’s traits into my real life? It’s like I’ve learned how to balance things better. I used to be a little impulsive, but now I’m able to approach things more calmly.”
Park Jin Young also talked about his emotional journey after the drama ended, admitting, “I find myself paying more attention to people’s faces now. Ho Soo is always looking people in the eye to really understand them, so now when I talk to someone, I tend to focus more intently on their face.”
In response, Park Bo Young joked, “So, if Jin Young starts staring at you intently, don’t think it’s weird!”
Our Unwritten Seoul, a romantic coming-of-age series that aired on tvN, tells the story of twin sisters who lead different lives but end up switching places to discover love and their true purpose. The series concluded last month to widespread acclaim and strong viewership in South Korea.
