Lee Jun Young recently shared his experience working alongside the multi-talented IU on the set of When Life Gives You Tangerines, revealing how the pop sensation and actress supported him during a particularly busy and demanding period in his career.
The YouTube channel Ong Style dropped a new video titled “Welcoming Our Eighth Friend Lee Jun Young: Dance Master Joins Lim Seul Ong’s Singer Comeback Project.”
In the video, Lee Jun Young, who was serving as Lim Seul Ong’s dance instructor for the day, couldn’t help but praise Seul Ong’s impressive learning speed. “I was really impressed by how quickly you picked up the choreography and nailed the performance,” Lee Jun Young said. Seul Ong, clearly enjoying the compliment, responded with a grin, “Well, I do have some experience as a trainee.”
The conversation then took a playful turn when the production team jokingly suggested Seul Ong could learn some moves from a “fifth-generation idol.” Seul Ong, with his signature humor, laughed and said, “Those fifth-gen idols would probably feel uncomfortable around me before I even start teaching. I’m ancient to them!” His witty remark had everyone in the room laughing.
Reflecting on his time filming When Life Gives You Tangerines, Lee Jun Young shared that, at the time, he was juggling three major projects: Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale, Weak Hero CLASS 2, and When Life Gives You Tangerines. With filming locations spread out, he found himself constantly traveling, often accompanied by three different managers.
Despite the hectic schedule, Lee Jun Young spoke fondly of his co-star, IU. “IU was incredibly thoughtful throughout the entire shoot,” he said. “She would always check in with me, asking, ‘Are you doing okay? Did you get some sleep?’ She really took care of me.”
He went on to express his deep gratitude for IU, saying, “As someone who has made a name for herself in both the music and acting worlds, she’s someone I look up to. Watching her lead the way has been both reassuring and inspiring for me.”
Lee Jun Young, who recently won over audiences with his role as Yeong Bum in the Netflix hit When Life Gives You Tangerines, continues to gain recognition for his impressive talent and work ethic.
