Im Yoon Ah is set to charm both the palate and the heart of a tyrannical king in tvN’s Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, premiering Saturday, August 23.
In the series, Yeon Ji Yeong (Im Yoon Ah) is a rising star in the culinary world, fresh off a victory at a prestigious French-fusion cooking competition and on the cusp of becoming head chef at a three-star restaurant. But her promising career takes a surreal turn when she’s mysteriously transported back in time.
Thrown into a strange and unfamiliar era, Ji Yeong crosses paths with King Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae Min), a notoriously ruthless monarch with a refined, almost supernatural, sense of taste. In a desperate bid for survival, she must impress the king through the one skill she knows best: cooking. But pleasing the sharp-tongued, flavor-obsessed ruler proves to be a challenge, especially when he trusts no one.
Newly released stills from the drama tease a dynamic full of tension and chemistry. In one striking image, King Lee Heon draws a bow on the bewildered, out-of-place Ji Yeong, instantly establishing the peril of her situation. In another, she nervously presents her dish beside the throne, while the king regards her with an unreadable expression, equal parts skepticism and intrigue.

Another still captures a moment of charged proximity between the two leads, with Ji Yeong standing startlingly close to the king, her eyes wide with surprise as he stares back, unflinching. It’s a visual hint at the slow-burn romance set to simmer between the modern-day chef and the iron-fisted ruler.
Bon Appetit, Your Majesty promises to serve a flavorful mix of heart-pounding tension, sweet anticipation, and unexpected romance. Through food, fear, and emotional connection, this drama explores how two people from vastly different worlds might find common ground, one meal at a time.
Bon Appetit, Your Majesty premieres on August 23 on tvN.
