Gisele Bündchen is looking back on the quieter life she built during her marriage to Tom Brady.
The 45-year-old supermodel reflected on her Boston years while discussing her July 2007 W Magazine cover. Bündchen moved to Boston during Brady’s long run as quarterback for the New England Patriots, and she says the shift changed her pace in a major way.
“After moving to Boston, I found myself living a much more subdued lifestyle,” Bündchen said.

Bündchen said her early career was defined by ambition, speed and saying yes to every opportunity.
“In the early stages of my career, I was focused on achieving success and seizing every opportunity that came my way,” she said.
But over time, her priorities changed.
“As time passed, I began to recognize the importance of striking a balance in life,” she added.
Bündchen credited her spiritual practice with helping her become more present and connected to herself.
“I shifted my focus from external expectations to my internal feelings,” she said.
Her Marriage To Tom Brady Shaped That Chapter
Bündchen moved to Boston in 2007 while Brady was still leading the Patriots. The couple married in 2009 and share two children, Benjamin and Vivian.
Brady is also father to son Jack from his previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan.
In 2018, Bündchen told Vogue that love was the reason she stayed in Boston.
“Love is the reason I’m here,” she said. “I love my husband.”
She also noted that her children were born there and felt deeply connected to the city.
“They’re true Bostonians and they adore the weather,” she said.
Bündchen Admitted The Cold Was Tough
Still, Bündchen never pretended Boston weather was her dream.
“To be honest, I’m not a fan of the cold,” she said.
The Brazilian model joked that she would rather live barefoot somewhere warm and natural.
Bündchen and Brady finalized their divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage. She has since married Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, and the couple welcomed a son in February of last year.
Now, with time and distance, Bündchen seems to be viewing her Boston chapter as a season of growth. It was quieter. It was colder. But it also helped her learn what balance really meant.
