Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster may be past the early surprise stage of their romance, but the pressure around them does not appear to be letting up.

Reports suggest Foster is struggling with the public fallout from Jackman’s split from Deborra-Lee Furness. The chatter has followed the couple for months, and Foster is reportedly finding it harder to ignore the online criticism and the labels being thrown at her.

Jackman and Foster’s relationship has already drawn plenty of attention. Now, the drama around his ex-wife appears to be hitting Foster more directly.

Sutton Foster Is Reportedly Struggling With The Backlash

According to a source, Foster has tried to tune out the noise around her relationship with Jackman. That has not been easy.

“Sutton tries to ignore it, but some of the trolls and criticism online get the better of her,” the insider said.

The source claimed Foster has been hurt by people calling her a “homewrecker,” a label that has followed her since public interest in her romance with Jackman intensified.

“She struggles with being branded a ‘homewrecker,’ so does Hugh, but this is a whole new world for Sutton,” the source added. “She’s never been ‘hated’ like this.”

That comment says a lot. Foster has had a long Broadway and TV career, but this kind of celebrity relationship scrutiny is a different machine.

Dating Hugh Jackman Came With A Bigger Spotlight

The insider also claimed Foster did not fully understand what dating Jackman would bring.

“She loves Hugh, but she was totally naive about what came with that,” the source said. “Nothing could have prepared her.”

The source added that Foster worries the reputation could follow her long-term, no matter what happens next in the relationship. “She worries she could be stuck with this reputation forever, regardless of whether or not she becomes Mrs Jackman,” the insider said.

Foster and Jackman have reportedly been together for around 16 months. That means the relationship is no longer brand-new, but the outside pressure has not faded.

Foster Recently Spoke About Feeling Alone

Foster also appeared to hint at the emotional weight during the Women’s Health Lab panel ‘The Science of Staying Strong: Longevity, Movement & Resilience.’ At the event, she admitted she had felt “really alone.”

She also spoke about women supporting one another instead of being forced into rivalry. “Women of power can actually support each other, and we don’t have to be pitted against each other,” Foster said. “There’s room for more than just one of us.”

The comment quickly drew attention because of the ongoing public tension surrounding Jackman, Foster, and Furness.

For now, Jackman and Furness remain at the center of the divorce drama. Foster, however, appears to be the one taking much of the public heat. And according to the latest reports, that heat is starting to wear her down.
