Sharon Stone is opening up about a terrifying attack she says left her with injuries she did not fully understand until 10 years later.

The ‘Basic Instinct’ actress, 68, spoke about the alleged assault on David Begnaud’s ‘The Person Who Believed in Me’ podcast. Stone said she is limited in what she can share publicly, but described waking up after being struck from behind.

“I was struck from behind,” Stone said. “The full extent of what happened didn’t become clear until ten years later.”

Sharon Stone Says She Woke Up Surrounded By Chaos

Stone said she regained consciousness on the floor with the room in disarray.

“I regained consciousness on the floor, surrounded by chaos,” she said. “Overturned couches, a coffee table flipped upside down, its contents strewn everywhere. I had no recollection of how I ended up in that state.”

A decade later, Stone sought medical help for neck and shoulder problems. During a clinic visit in Marina Del Rey, California, she said X-rays revealed something far more serious.

“The doctor entered the room with a grave expression,” Stone recalled. “He said, ‘We can’t proceed with the surgery.'”

According to Stone, the doctor told her that her thoracic ribcage showed extensive healed fractures and scarring. He also said the injuries appeared to show she had been attacked.

“This was a felony, and we’re obligated to report it to the authorities,” Stone remembered him saying.

Stone Says She Knows Who Attacked Her

Stone said the discovery sent her into a panic attack at the hospital. The doctor then tried to calm her and help her remember what happened.

“The doctor, sensing my fear, knelt down and reassured me, ‘I’m small. No one will hurt you,'” Stone said.

When asked about the attacker, Stone did not name anyone. Still, she said she felt certain about the person’s identity.

“I won’t name names publicly, but we did report it and took all necessary steps,” she said.

Stone also explained why she did not pursue a bigger legal battle after so much time had passed.

“I believe I had enough circumstantial evidence to build a case, but I didn’t want this to become my defining story,” she said.

When asked whether the incident involved domestic violence, Stone replied, “I’m not at liberty to comment on that.”

Health Scare Added Another Painful Chapter

During the same podcast, Stone also discussed a breast cancer scare and her decision to undergo a bilateral mastectomy, a procedure to remove both breasts.

“One tumor was larger than my entire left breast,” Stone said.

She said doctors urged her to act quickly because the situation looked serious. Stone later learned the tumors were benign, but she believes the health crisis marked a turning point in her marriage.

“That was the turning point,” Stone said. “He checked out emotionally. It was over.”

Stone did not name her then-husband in the interview. She was married to journalist Phil Bronstein from 1998 to 2004.

For Stone, the story is not just about pain. It is about survival, silence and the hard decisions she made to keep one trauma from becoming the headline of her life.
