Sydney Sweeney may have just poured fresh fuel on the latest ‘Euphoria’ cast drama.
After Sunday’s Season 3 finale, the 28-year-old actress shared a behind-the-scenes Instagram carousel from the HBO series. The post gave fans a look at life on set with several co-stars, including Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow. She also included a touching image of the late Eric Dane.
One major face, though, was missing. Zendaya did not appear in the photo dump, and fans noticed fast.
Sydney Sweeney’s Post Sparks Zendaya Questions
Sweeney captioned the post, “It’s called… acting,” which seemed to address criticism around her intense portrayal of Cassie Howard. Still, the caption was not what dominated the conversation.
Fans quickly shifted attention to Zendaya’s absence. The two have starred on ‘Euphoria’ since the beginning, so the omission felt loud to some viewers.
“No Zendaya in this slideshow? I’m confused…” one fan wrote.
Another commenter took the speculation further, writing, “Zendaya probably doesn’t vibe with [Sweeney] because of her values.”
A third user added, “Not a single pic with Rue? Zendaya must NOT like you.”
That was enough to restart months of chatter about whether the two stars are keeping their distance behind the scenes.
Feud Rumors Have Followed The ‘Euphoria’ Stars
The alleged tension has been building for months. In November 2025, one report claimed Sweeney and Zendaya were caught in a bitter private fallout tied partly to different political views.
Sweeney, a registered Republican, previously faced backlash over her American Eagle denim campaign. Some critics argued the ad carried racist undertones, which turned the campaign into a larger online debate.
Reports later claimed Zendaya avoided press appearances with Sweeney during the Season 3 promotional tour. The two also allegedly kept space between them at events, adding more oxygen to the speculation.
The chatter grew again in March, when Sweeney missed a ‘Euphoria’ cast photoshoot. Her absence was later attributed to scheduling conflicts, but fans kept watching.
By the Season 3 premiere, some viewers claimed the actresses seemed to avoid each other again.
One Cast Member Says There Is No Real Drama
Jessica Blair Herman has pushed back on the feud talk. During an appearance on ‘Good Day New York,’ she said fans may be reading too much into limited photos and separate schedules.
“They genuinely get along, and I’m not just saying that for show,” Herman said. “They’ve fostered a great working relationship, and everyone’s focused on doing their job well.”
She also said the production setup may explain the lack of joint moments.
“To be fair, when I was on set, they rarely shared scenes,” Herman said. “Their storylines are quite separate, so they’re often filming on different days.”
So, is this a real feud or another case of fans zooming in too hard? For now, Sweeney’s missing Zendaya photo has kept the question alive.
