Blake Lively is facing another messy headline after her legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

The actress and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, reportedly owe more than $2.1 million in unpaid contractor debt tied to their sprawling Upstate New York property. The couple bought the estate in Lewisboro, about 60 miles north of Manhattan, back in 2018.

Lively reportedly had major plans for the property, once describing it as a “beautiful buffer,” “heaven,” and “the most beautiful place in the world.”

Now, the unfinished compound is reportedly facing contractor liens, unpaid work claims, and fresh questions about what is happening behind the scenes.

Blake Lively’s Dream Estate Reportedly Faces Major Debt

The South Salem property includes the main estate and several surrounding parcels of land.

Lively reportedly wanted to turn it into an environmentally conscious luxury retreat away from neighbors and public attention. The plan allegedly included a large main residence, a pool house, a separate gym structure, geothermal heating and cooling systems, custom copper roofing, and high-end interior finishes. Eight years after the purchase, however, the project is reportedly still incomplete.

According to Westchester County filings, at least five contractors and subcontractors have filed claims tied to the property, with the total alleged debt reaching more than $2.1 million. The largest claim reportedly comes from FlowCon Inc., also known as Flower Construction. The company is allegedly seeking more than $1.35 million in unpaid fees.

Contractors Claim Unpaid Work On Luxury Compound

Flower Construction reportedly handled major parts of the build, including structural work, plumbing, electrical installation, HVAC systems, drywall, masonry, waterproofing, painting, and custom wood detailing. Other subcontractor claims reportedly involve copper roofing, drainage infrastructure, carpentry, trim work, steel fabrication, excavation, and septic system installation.

Construction was said to be ongoing as recently as late 2025 before work paused. The delay was reportedly tied to contractors refusing to continue without payment. For now, records reportedly show no lien releases or discharge filings, meaning the alleged debts have not been formally settled.

Baldoni Legal Battle Adds More Questions

The timing makes the situation even more awkward.

Lively recently settled her legal dispute with her ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star and director Justin Baldoni after months of public attention. The fight reportedly cost her millions in legal fees, though the exact amount has not been publicly confirmed.

Lively is now seeking to recover those costs under a California law that may allow people who report sexual misconduct to claim attorneys’ fees and damages if the accused files a retaliatory defamation suit. Baldoni’s lawyers have pushed back, arguing she is not entitled to those protections because the alleged incident she cited primarily took place during filming in New Jersey. A judge has not yet ruled on that issue.

Lively and Baldoni later released a joint statement saying the film ‘It Ends With Us’ remained a source of pride and that they hoped the settlement would allow everyone involved to move forward.

For Lively and Reynolds, the property was reportedly meant to become a private family paradise. Right now, it is being described in a much less flattering way: unfinished, expensive, and buried under more than $2 million in alleged contractor debt.
