Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt’s romance has reportedly ended, and the reason sounds less dramatic than sad.

The former couple, who welcomed daughter Scottie Rose in December 2025, are said to be navigating their split while keeping co-parenting as the priority. Sources claim the relationship struggled under the weight of new parenthood, a fast-moving romance, and Davidson’s demanding work schedule.

“They tried to make it work, but there were different stressors, including having a baby together as two people who didn’t yet know each other that well,” one insider said. That line explains a lot.

Pete Davidson And Elsie Hewitt Faced Early Parenthood Pressure

Davidson and Hewitt first sparked dating rumors in March 2025 before becoming parents later that year. Their daughter’s name, Scottie Rose, honors Davidson’s late father, a firefighter who died responding to the September 11 attacks.

The couple reportedly tried to adjust their schedules around the baby. Still, insiders say a romantic reconciliation now looks “very unlikely.”

They are not cutting each other off, though.

The source said Davidson and Hewitt still care about each other and remain focused on raising Scottie together.

“They are both trying to make it work and have made accommodations in their schedules for the baby,” the insider added.

Davidson Previously Praised Hewitt As A Mom

The split news comes not long after Davidson spoke warmly about fatherhood and Hewitt’s parenting.

He called Scottie “the biggest gift” and said being away from home now feels different. Public attention and career noise do not seem to matter the same way anymore.

Davidson also praised Hewitt for how naturally she stepped into motherhood. He said she always seemed to know what Scottie needed.

“If [Scottie is] crying, [Elsie] knows exactly what to do,” Davidson said. “She has, like, little tricks that get her to relax or calm down, and all that stuff is really cool to watch and see.”

A few weeks before the breakup reports, Davidson had even talked about wanting more children someday. He said he liked the idea of Scottie becoming a big sister, even while admitting new parenthood can be overwhelming.

Work Travel Reportedly Made Things Harder

Sources claim Davidson’s travel schedule added pressure after Scottie was born. “Pete has been traveling so much for work, but Elsie was craving more support from him at home after their daughter was born,” one insider said.

Another source said the former couple is now putting all attention on their daughter. “They are just focusing 100% on Scottie. Working out the best co-parenting solution is their top priority,” the source explained.

Hewitt recently hinted at the exhaustion of new motherhood on Instagram. In one post, she described finally getting a screaming baby down for a nap, then realizing she had not breathed properly or used the bathroom all day. “The silence is deafening,” she wrote. In another post, she added, “I am a zombie.”

Davidson is also dealing with another change. He recently sold his Staten Island condo for $800,000 after buying it for $1.2 million in 2020, reportedly taking a major loss.

Between the breakup, co-parenting, work travel, and newborn pressure, the split sounds less like a blowup and more like two people overwhelmed by how fast life changed.
