Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster may be moving forward as a couple, but sources claim politics is becoming one of the most awkward pressure points in their relationship.
The pair, first linked early last year, are said to be happy together. Still, insiders claim their political differences can create tension fast, especially when Jackman’s long-standing friendship with Ivanka Trump enters the conversation.
For Foster, that connection reportedly is not easy to ignore.
Sutton Foster Reportedly Has A Problem With Hugh Jackman’s Trump Ties
According to journalist Rob Shuter’s ‘Naughty But Nice’ Substack, Jackman has remained close to Ivanka Trump for years.
“Hugh and Ivanka go way back,” one insider said. “This isn’t some casual Hollywood friendship. They’ve stayed genuinely close for years, and that relationship has never really changed.”
Foster, meanwhile, is described as having very different political views. “Sutton’s politics are very different,” a source said. “[Sutton is] vocal about where she stands, and the Ivanka-Jared circle is not a world she feels comfortable in, socially or politically.”
That divide reportedly becomes harder to manage when Jackman appears comfortable in circles Foster would rather avoid.
One Event Reportedly Hit A Nerve
The tension allegedly became more obvious around Rupert Murdoch’s birthday event.
Jackman performed at the gathering, while Ivanka was reportedly in attendance and cheering him on. Foster skipped the event, and sources claim that was not accidental.
“That room was never going to be Sutton’s scene,” one insider said. The source added, “Seeing Hugh so comfortable in that crowd, especially with Ivanka there, definitely hit a nerve.”
For Jackman, the issue is reportedly delicate. His friendship with Ivanka is not new, but his relationship with Foster is still relatively fresh. Sources say he is trying to balance both without creating more friction.

Marriage Talk Reportedly Has Other Complications

Another reported issue is financial. Jackman is said to have rejected the idea of a prenup, despite his reported $100 million-plus fortune. “Hugh won’t even entertain the idea of a prenup,” an insider claimed. “He shuts it down immediately.”
The source added that Foster would have no problem signing one, but Jackman reportedly sees the suggestion as insulting.
