Hailey Bieber is shutting down one rumor that clearly gets under her skin.
The Rhode founder, 29, addressed claims that she calls paparazzi on herself during a new spring cover interview with ‘Interview Magazine.’ Hailey said the idea is not only false, but also “icky,” especially given how aggressive paparazzi culture can be.
For someone who is photographed almost every time she leaves the house, she made her position blunt: she is not asking for it.

Speaking with ‘Interview’ editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg, Hailey said the paparazzi world has always had a dark side. “Historically we’ve seen that paparazzi are awful,” she said. “I don’t think it’s gotten any better or any worse.”
She added, “The spirit behind it is very dark and I don’t think it’s something that anybody asks for in this world.” That is why she finds the online accusation so frustrating. “I find it really funny when I’ll see people online being like, ‘She calls the paparazzi on herself every day.’ It’s so icky,” Hailey said.
Ottenberg backed her up directly, saying, “For the record, people, she’s not calling the paps.” Hailey confirmed, “No.”
She Says Being Photographed Changed Her Style
Hailey also explained how constant public attention has changed the way she dresses.
“When you’re being photographed just leaving the house, you have to think about style in a lot of different ways,” she said.
She admitted that some outfits look good in person, then photograph badly.
“I’ve worn something where in person it looked great and then it photographed super awkwardly, so I’m a lot more conscious of it,” Hailey said. “I tailor everything. I’m meticulous about it all.”
Still, she said her style is becoming more pared back. “At my core I feel the coolest and the cutest and the hottest in a t-shirt and jeans or a pair of great trousers and a little tank top,” she explained. She added, “I think there’s something to be said about effortlessness. The more I’m trying to make an outfit look good, the less it works. It doesn’t need to be that deep.”

Hailey also spoke about life as a mother to her son Jack Blues, 19 months, whom she shares with Justin Bieber.
When asked if she worries about the world her son is growing up in, Hailey said she thinks about it “every day.” “That’s probably the most anxiety I have as a parent,” she said. “The world he’s growing up in is very, very scary and it feels so bleak, thinking about the future, with how things are going.”
Still, she said she tries to focus on the environment she and Justin can create at home. “As long as he’s growing up in an environment at home that’s really loving and beautiful, that’s all that I can hope for,” she said.
Hailey also said she wants more children, though she is not rushing the decision. “I definitely want more than one, but I’m taking it one at a time,” she said. “Some days I want two. Some days I want five.”
For now, Hailey seems focused on family, her business and shutting down the idea that every photographed coffee run is some staged celebrity game.
