Zoë Kravitz made a major Met Gala entrance Monday night, and the missing jewelry did almost as much talking as the dress.
The actress, 37, arrived at the 2026 Met Gala without her reported new fiancé, Harry Styles, and without the engagement ring that had fans buzzing just one week earlier. That detail did not stay quiet for long.
Kravitz, a co-chair of the Met Gala Host Committee, walked the carpet with Yves Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello. She wore an elaborate YSL lace gown with a dark, gothic edge, giving the night one of its sharper fashion moments.
Zoë Kravitz’s Missing Ring Gets People Talking
The ring drama started almost immediately.
As Kravitz arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, she appeared to keep her left hand away from photographers. That made some watchers think she was hiding her new sparkler, which had reportedly been valued at $1 million.
Then came the reveal. Her ring finger looked bare.
Online, people noticed fast. “No ring omg?” one stunned social media user wrote, summing up the mood around the surprise detail.
The timing made the moment even messier. Kravitz’s proposal to Styles had only recently become public after she was seen wearing the large ring. So, when she stepped onto fashion’s biggest carpet without it, fans had one question: what happened?
Harry Styles Was Missing From The Carpet
Styles also skipped the spotlight Monday night, leaving Kravitz to take the carpet without her husband-to-be.
That does not automatically mean trouble. Celebrities leave jewelry at home for security reasons all the time, especially when a ring carries a reported seven-figure price tag. Still, Met Gala watchers do not exactly ignore a missing fiancé and a missing ring in the same night.
Kravitz has had a very public dating history. She ended her engagement to Channing Tatum in 2024 after three years together. Before that, she was married to Karl Glusman for less than two years before their split in 2020.
Now, with Styles, the public interest is already intense. A bare ring finger only added fuel.
The Met Gala Theme Had A Serious Art Focus
The 2026 Met Gala theme was ‘Costume Art,’ with the dress code ‘Fashion Is Art.’ The annual fundraiser, held on the first Monday in May, supports the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
This year’s event was led by co-chairs Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams, alongside Vogue’s global editorial director Anna Wintour. Williams co-chaired the gala for the first time, while Kidman previously helped lead the event in 2003 and 2005.
The exhibition pairs historical and contemporary garments and explores how designers treat the human body as a canvas. Curator Andrew Bolton explained the title at a press conference, saying ‘Costume Art’ refers to the history of the Costume Institute.
For Kravitz, the night was supposed to be about fashion, art and her role on the host committee. Instead, her missing ring turned into one of the night’s biggest side stories.
