Katy Perry is facing more scrutiny after her ‘Teenage Dream’ music video costar Josh Kloss spoke again about an alleged 2012 party incident that he says left him feeling “degraded.”

Kloss, who played Perry’s love interest in the 2010 ‘Teenage Dream’ video, claimed the singer exposed him in front of people at a birthday party for one of her associates.

“Some people believe that if you’re pulling people’s pants down at a party, you’re pranking them and it’s normal,” Kloss said. He claimed Perry pulled down his pants after they greeted each other outside the party. “I freaked out,” Kloss said. “What in the world are you doing? I freaked out and she laughed.”

Kloss Says He Felt Devalued By The Alleged Incident

Kloss said he had initially connected well with Perry while filming the ‘Teenage Dream’ video, which became one of the biggest pop visuals of her career.

After the alleged 2012 incident, he said one of Perry’s friends invited him to an after-party because the singer “wanted to talk to [him].” Kloss said he went despite feeling angry about what had allegedly happened.

He claimed he briefly spoke with Perry at the after-party, but said both were pulled away by friends before they could properly address the moment.

Kloss first made the allegation publicly on Instagram in August 2019. He said some fans later told him he should feel “fortunate” or “lucky.”

“She, who I should be grateful for, devalued and degraded me to the highest level in front of her closest peers,” Kloss said. “Why would I be grateful for that?”

Perry Has Not Directly Addressed Kloss’ Claim

Kloss said he expected Perry to apologize, but claimed she never did.

In a 2020 interview, Perry did not address Kloss directly, but said, “We live in a world where anyone can say anything.”

She added, “I don’t comment on all the things that are said about me because if I chase that dragon, it would be about true and false-ing my whole life.”

Kloss said he has moved past the alleged incident personally, but still struggles with people doubting him.

“Publicly, some of the hard part is seeing people not believe [me],” he said. “Victims are not believed. I don’t call myself a victim but they aren’t believed.”

The Claim Comes Amid Ruby Rose Allegations

Kloss’ comments come as Perry is already under intense attention over allegations from Ruby Rose.

Rose recently accused Perry of sexual assault tied to an alleged 2010 incident at a Melbourne nightclub. Perry’s spokesperson strongly denied Rose’s claim.

“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies,” the spokesperson said.

Rose later said she had finalized police reports and could no longer comment publicly. Victoria Police in Australia has confirmed that Rose’s allegations are being formally investigated.

Perry has denied Rose’s allegations, and Kloss’ claim has not been tested in court. Still, the renewed attention has made the past accusations part of a much larger public conversation around the singer.
