Nicole Kidman is heading back to the Met Gala, and this time her date is keeping it in the family.
The actress, who has long been a fixture on the Met steps, revealed that her daughter Sunday Rose will join her at the 2026 Met Gala. The event’s theme is ‘Costume Art,’ and Kidman is set to co-chair.
During a recent episode of the ‘Las Culturistas’ podcast, Kidman shared the news while talking about her return to fashion’s biggest night. “And this is, I think it’s the third time I’ve co-chaired, but to do it now? I’m so, so happy, and my daughter Sunday will be coming,” Kidman said. “She’s actually just walked the Dior show. Yeah, she’s flying back from Paris now.”
So, after years of arriving with designers, fashion insiders and former husband Keith Urban, Kidman is bringing her 17-year-old daughter into the spotlight.
Sunday Rose Is Having A Fashion Moment
Sunday’s Met Gala debut comes as she is already stepping into the fashion world. She recently walked the Dior show, giving fans a clear sign that she may be following her own path into the industry. She also made her ‘Elle Australia’ cover debut, where she spoke warmly about Kidman’s influence.
“My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life,” Sunday said. She also called Kidman “a key part of everything I do.”
That makes the Met Gala appearance feel less like a random mother-daughter outing and more like a public handoff. Kidman has spent decades balancing Hollywood prestige with high-fashion visibility. Now Sunday is arriving at the same table.
Kidman’s Met Gala Return Comes After Divorce

Kidman and Urban first met in January 2005 at the G’Day USA gala. They began dating months later, got engaged the following year and married in 2006.
The former couple welcomed Sunday in July 2008 and their younger daughter, Faith, in December 2010.
Their split was announced in late 2025. A source claimed at the time that the separation was Urban’s decision. “Sometimes relationships just run their course,” the insider said. “[Kidman] did not want the separation and was trying to save things.”
Kidman filed for divorce on September 30, 2025. Their divorce and custody agreement were finalized in January 2026.
