Melania Trump has had enough of Jimmy Kimmel, and she is putting ABC directly on notice.
The first lady, 56, shared a rare statement on X on Monday, April 27, accusing the late-night host of using “hateful and violent rhetoric” on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ She also called on ABC to act against him.
“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country,” Melania wrote. “His monologue about my family isn’t comedy, his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.” She added, “People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate.”
Melania Called Kimmel A ‘Coward’
Melania called Kimmel a “coward,” claiming he “hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect” him. “Enough is enough,” she wrote. “It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.”
It was not immediately clear which monologue Melania was referring to, though Kimmel recently aired an “alternative” White House Correspondents’ Dinner monologue before the April 25 shooting incident at the event.
During the segment, Kimmel mocked President Donald Trump and made several jokes about Melania. “So beautiful, Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow,” he said. He also joked about her birthday, saying she would celebrate at home “looking out a window and whispering, ‘What have I done?’”
Kimmel’s Melania Jokes Got Personal
Kimmel also referenced Melania’s Brett Ratner documentary, ‘Melania,’ and called her a “movie star.” He mocked the film’s Rotten Tomatoes score and referred to it as “the world’s first motionless picture.”
Kimmel also made a Jeffrey Epstein joke, saying, “Before we go any further, Melania, this is Donald. Donald, this is Melania. That was my impression of Jeffrey Epstein.” Melania has denied reports that Epstein introduced her to Trump. The Epstein reference came after Melania recently made a rare live TV statement saying she had “never been friends” with Epstein. Kimmel had previously questioned why she spoke publicly while Trump was trying to move attention away from the story.
Kimmel Has Already Faced ABC Drama
Melania’s demand comes months after ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ was briefly pulled from the air in September following comments Kimmel made about Charlie Kirk’s death.
Disney and ABC’s decision came after Nexstar and Sinclair said they would preempt the show on ABC affiliates. FCC Chair Brendan Carr had also threatened action against the network over criticism of Trump.
Kimmel returned to air six days later. Trump was not pleased, calling ABC “fake news” and claiming the White House had been told the show was canceled.
Now Melania is renewing pressure on ABC, and this time she is making it personal.
