Channing Tatum is giving the internet plenty to read into after his ex-fiancée Zoë Kravitz’s engagement to Harry Styles.
The ‘21 Jump Street’ actor posted a cryptic Instagram Story several hours after news broke that Kravitz, 37, and Styles, 32, are engaged after eight months of dating. Tatum did not mention either of them by name. That only made the timing louder.
He reposted an emotional poem by John Roedel and paired it with ‘Faith’s Hymn’ by the Beautiful Chorus choir. He also tagged Roedel and added one short caption: “Read…”
That was all. No explanation. No follow-up. Just one poem, one song, and a lot of people wondering whether Tatum was quietly reacting to his ex moving on in a very public way.
The Poem Hit A Very Personal Note
The piece Tatum shared starts with a line that was hard to ignore.
“my brain and heart divorced / a decade ago / over who was to blame about how big a mess I had become / eventually, they couldn’t be in the same room with each other.”
For a celebrity who usually keeps his personal life fairly contained, the post felt pointed. Maybe it was about Kravitz. Maybe it was not. That is the problem with cryptic Instagram Stories. They leave just enough room for everyone to build their own version.
The post comes after a long romantic chapter with Kravitz. The two first started dating in August 2021, got engaged in October 2023, and ended their engagement in October 2024.

“I love this thing that we made together, and I care for him very much,” she said.
She added, “Even when you bring up how great his performance is, it warms my heart to hear that, and I’m so happy that all of it happened. I just feel so grateful that we got to go on that journey together.”
That tracks with what insiders said after the split. Their breakup reportedly did not come from one major fight. According to people familiar with the situation, they “really just grew apart and decided it was best for them to go their separate ways.”

The ‘Watermelon Sugar’ singer has been linked over the years to Taylor Russell, Olivia Wilde, Kendall Jenner, and Taylor Swift. He was also spotted getting close to London-based producer Ella Kenny at Glastonbury Festival just two months before linking up with Kravitz in August 2025.
Tatum, meanwhile, was previously married to Jenna Dewan from 2009 to 2018. They share daughter Everly, now 12.
