Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s Beverly Hills mansion saga is still not over, but one thing now looks a lot clearer. According to new reports, Affleck has given up his share of the sprawling marital estate, leaving Lopez in control of the next phase of an expensive post-divorce headache. The property has sat without a buyer, gone through price cuts, and now seems headed for another reset.

That alone would be enough to keep this story alive. Add in the fact that the house once symbolized one of Hollywood’s biggest reunion romances, and it becomes even harder to look away. What was supposed to be a dream home has turned into one more loose end from a marriage that burned bright and ended fast.

Jennifer Lopez Takes Over Mansion Costs And Sale Plans

The former couple bought the 38,000-square-foot Wallingford estate in Beverly Hills in May 2023 for $60.8 million. During their two-year marriage, it served as their main marital home. After their split, they tried to offload it, first listing it in July 2024 for $68 million.

That plan did not work. The price later dropped to $52 million, and even that did not bring in a buyer. The listing was eventually removed, and now the legal paperwork appears to show a major shift in responsibility.

According to the latest filings, Lopez is now “solely responsible for all expenses” tied to any future sale of her interest in the Wallingford residence, including broker fees, taxes, and closing costs. She signed the updated agreement on March 31, while Affleck signed the following day.

The language also points to an eventual property transfer, which strongly suggests Lopez plans to put the mansion back on the market once the timing makes sense.

Mansion Drama Adds Another Twist To Bennifer’s Split

Reports say Lopez has remained in the Beverly Hills home and plans to stay there while renovations are completed. One source said, “Jennifer is renovating the home to her satisfaction.” The insider added, “She is spending a lot of money because it’s big: there is the main house, the pool house and a guest house.”

That detail matters because it shows this is not just about unloading a property. Lopez appears to be trying to get the house into better shape before another attempt to sell it.

Both stars have already moved on in practical terms. Affleck bought a $20 million home in Pacific Palisades in August 2024, while Lopez moved her family into a $21 million property in Calabasas in February. So the Beverly Hills mansion now looks less like a home and more like unfinished business.

And that may be the real story here. Bennifer’s marriage is over, but the mansion is still hanging around like one last oversized reminder of everything that did not work out.
