Miley Cyrus is getting candid about one of the biggest stages in entertainment, revealing why she’s not fully sold on headlining the Super Bowl halftime show.

In a recent cover story interview with Variety, the “Flowers” singer shared that while the opportunity is undeniably iconic, it also comes with an overwhelming level of pressure. For Cyrus, the sheer scale of the event is what gives her pause.

“I always think the Super Bowl feels like too much pressure,” she said, pointing to the massive global audience and expectations that come with the performance. With millions of viewers tuning in, she admitted it’s difficult not to feel the weight of the moment.

Cyrus explained that in order to take on a show like that, she would need to mentally reframe it. Instead of focusing on the magnitude of the Super Bowl itself, she’d have to approach it in a way that feels more personal and creatively fulfilling.

That’s where her recent Hannah Montana anniversary project comes into play. Cyrus said she would consider the halftime show if she could shape it similarly, turning it into a journey through her music and different eras rather than a traditional high-pressure performance.

Her approach to the anniversary special reflects that mindset. Rather than reinventing the past, she focused on honoring each phase of her career while still evolving creatively. “Now Hannah wears Gucci,” she joked, highlighting the blend of nostalgia and modern influence.

The Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special is set to premiere March 24 on Disney+, and it may offer a glimpse into how Cyrus envisions large-scale performances on her own terms.

For now, the Super Bowl remains an open question. While Cyrus isn’t ruling it out entirely, it’s clear she’s only willing to take the stage if it aligns with her vision rather than the pressure that comes with it.
