Kelly Osbourne is pushing back against harsh online criticism after photos from the 2026 BRIT Awards sparked a wave of comments about her appearance. The television personality and fashion figure took to social media to call out what she described as “cruel” remarks, saying she is already navigating one of the most difficult periods of her life following the death of her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.

Osbourne attended the BRIT Awards on February 28 alongside her mother, Sharon Osbourne, wearing a floor-length black gown. Shortly after photos from the event circulated online, some social media users began commenting on her appearance, with several claiming she looked unusually thin or “frail.” The remarks quickly gained traction across gossip pages and fan forums.

In response, Osbourne posted a message on Instagram addressing the criticism directly. She said the comments felt especially painful given the personal struggles she has been dealing with since losing her father in July 2025. According to Osbourne, the online reaction made her feel as though strangers were turning her grief into entertainment.

“There’s a special kind of cruelty in attacking someone who is clearly struggling,” she wrote in the post. She described the online backlash as people “kicking me while I’m down” and questioning her pain during a time when she is still processing a major family loss.

Ozzy Osbourne’s death last year deeply affected the family, and sources close to the Osbournes say the grieving process has been particularly difficult for Kelly. While she continues to appear publicly with her family, insiders say the loss of her father has had a lasting emotional impact.

Osbourne’s message did not ask for sympathy but instead called for empathy from those commenting on celebrities’ appearances. She argued that the type of criticism circulating online reflects a broader lack of compassion, particularly when directed at someone dealing with personal hardship.

The television personality also made it clear that she refuses to stay silent about the situation. “I shouldn’t have to justify myself,” she wrote, adding that she will not allow herself to be dehumanized by strangers on the internet.

Despite the backlash, Osbourne continues to balance public life with family responsibilities. She shares a young son, Sidney, with her fiancé Sid Wilson, and has remained close to her mother Sharon during the family’s mourning period.
