Nicole Kidman is sharing an awkward behind-the-scenes moment from the filming of Big Little Lies.
During an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast, the 58-year-old actor recalled a scene with co-star Alexander Skarsgård that became uncomfortable because of what he had eaten beforehand.
According to Kidman, Skarsgård had eaten a falafel sandwich shortly before they were scheduled to film an intimate scene.
“Alexander Skarsgård ate a falafel sandwich before we filmed our scenes,” Kidman said. “I was like, ‘No, no, no, Alex. I’m supposed to be attracted to you and kissing you—ditch the falafel, please.’”
She joked that the experience likely convinced him to avoid the food before filming romantic scenes in the future.
“I’m pretty sure he never ate falafel again,” she said.
Kidman explained that bad breath is something she finds impossible to ignore.
“You could be the most handsome man on earth, but if you approach me with bad breath, it’s a hard no,” she said.
The actor also shared a lighter moment from the interview, naming Rihanna as the celebrity she believes smells the best.
“Rihanna,” Kidman said without hesitation. “Her scent is intoxicating. I’d follow her anywhere.”
