Nicole Kidman has reflected on a difficult year following the end of her marriage to country singer Keith Urban.

In a new interview with Variety published March 11, the 58-year-old actor discussed her recent personal challenges and how she is moving forward.

Kidman filed for divorce from Urban in September 2025, bringing an end to their nearly two-decade marriage.

When asked about her career momentum, the Big Little Lies star pushed back on the idea that every year has been another major success for her.

“Well, not last year,” Kidman said. “I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell.”

The actor said she now feels ready to move into a new chapter.

“Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go,’” Kidman said, noting she will appear in Practical Magic alongside Sandra Bullock.

“I’ll be in full witch mode,” she added.

Kidman also emphasized that her focus remains on family following the breakup.

“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward,” she said.

She added that she prefers not to discuss details of the split publicly.

“Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect,” Kidman explained. “I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be.”

Kidman and Urban married in 2006 and share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.
