Lauren Sanchez Bezos shared an emotional moment from her wedding to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, revealing that the couple was deeply moved during the ceremony.
The 56-year-old journalist recently spoke with Extra while promoting her new children’s book, The Fly Who Flew Under the Sea, and reflected on the celebration that followed their June wedding.
According to Sanchez, the event was filled with family, friends, and memorable moments, including a lively reception where guests spent the night dancing.
“It was an absolute blast,” Sanchez said, adding that the couple and their guests spent much of the evening on the dance floor celebrating together.
One of the most emotional moments of the day came during the ceremony itself, when the couple’s children delivered speeches before the vows.
Sanchez said the speeches from their children were particularly meaningful and filled with emotion.
She revealed that a speech delivered by her daughter just before the couple exchanged vows brought her to tears moments before photos were scheduled to be taken.
“I was a mess,” she recalled, explaining that the heartfelt words caught her off guard right before the ceremony’s key moment.
Sanchez said the speeches from their children helped define the tone of the day and made the wedding especially meaningful.
The former television journalist shares daughter Ella, 18, and son Evan, 19, with her ex-husband Patrick Whitesell. She is also the mother of Nikko, 25, whom she shares with former partner Tony Gonzalez.
According to Sanchez, having their children involved in the ceremony made the celebration feel even more special for both families.
