Hilary Duff just confirmed one of the juiciest early-2000s rumors—and yes, she really did crash Freaky Friday.
While appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Duff admitted she showed up to the August 2003 premiere of Lindsay Lohan’s hit Disney film during the height of their teenage rivalry. “Absolutely, yes,” she said when asked if she crashed it. “I was just a teenager.” At the time, both stars were dominating Disney—and tabloid headlines—thanks in part to their rumored love triangle with Aaron Carter.
Duff didn’t seem too bothered that Lohan later attended the December 2003 premiere of Cheaper by the Dozen. “That was our childhood feud,” Duff said. “She was like my nemesis.” But more than two decades later, she’s laughing about it. “It’s been so many years, who even cares anymore?”
The real plot twist? The former rivals eventually buried the hatchet in the most Hollywood way possible—over shots at a club. Duff recalled Lohan approaching her and asking, “Are we cool?” Duff said yes, and the two sealed the peace with a drink. “It’s all water under the bridge now,” she shared.
Looking back, Duff even revealed that Chad Michael Murray encouraged her to attend the Freaky Friday premiere in the first place. Teenage drama, Disney superstardom, tabloid chaos—it was peak 2003. And now? Just a nostalgic chapter in pop culture history.
