Jeremy Dufrene is setting the record straight. Lana Del Rey’s husband has publicly denied rumors that he’s a supporter of Donald Trump after months of online speculation labeling him as “MAGA.”
The Louisiana boat captain, who married Lana in September 2024 after the couple went public just weeks earlier, has largely stayed out of the spotlight. But chatter about his political views intensified after social media users circulated screenshots of an alleged 2022 Facebook post that appeared to favor Trump over other candidates. While some outlets identified an account featuring Dufrene and his swamp boat tours, the controversial posts were never independently verified.
During a recent appearance at Ralph Lauren’s fall 2026 runway show in New York City, a video captured the couple seated front row when someone referred to him as Lana’s “MAGA husband.” Dufrene quickly responded, “No MAGA supporter here.” He also pushed back against a commenter who accused Lana of racism, firing back that critics were “sad and miserable or jealous.”
Lana has faced political controversy before. In 2020, she was criticized for comments that referenced several prominent women of color while defending her own music, which some interpreted as tone-deaf. She strongly denied accusations of racism at the time. Although Lana’s current political views aren’t entirely clear, she has previously criticized Trump and even publicly called out Kanye West in 2018 for supporting him, writing that backing Trump was “a loss for the culture.”
