In a new interview with The Standard, the 23-year-old actor and model addressed his mother’s relationship with the country music star, calling Billy Ray “a very sweet boyfriend who I adore.” Damian also praised the singer’s children, describing them as “very, very sweet,” signaling that the blended families appear to be on good terms.
Elizabeth welcomed Damian with late film producer Steve Bing, while Billy Ray is father to Miley, Noah, and Braison Cyrus from his marriage to Tish Cyrus. He also adopted Tish’s children, Brandi and Trace, and shares son Christopher Cody with Kristen Luckey. Despite the public attention surrounding the relationship, Damian’s comments suggest there’s no tension behind the scenes.
However, he did acknowledge that the intense speculation about his mother’s love life has been difficult. Damian described the online rumors as “very strange and upsetting,” admitting that social media can quickly become overwhelming. To protect his peace, he sometimes deletes Instagram for extended periods, saying it would be unhealthy to let online chatter affect real life.
