Renée Zellweger is headed to court after a house guest accused the Oscar winner and her partner, TV host Ant Anstead, of negligence following an alleged fall at their rented California home.

The lawsuit was filed in February 2025 by Tracey Bryn Belland, the lead singer of the 1980s band Voice of the Beehive. Belland claims she was injured during a visit to the couple’s Laguna Beach property in August 2024. According to court documents, she alleges she tripped on a patio rug that was covering a hole, resulting in a serious injury to her right knee.

After months of legal back-and-forth, Us Weekly reports that a jury trial is now set for June 22. Belland says the incident has left her dealing with ongoing physical pain, emotional distress, and financial strain. She has filed a negligence claim against Zellweger, Anstead, and the property’s owner, Glenn Alan Wilson, seeking compensation for medical bills, legal fees, and additional damages.

Zellweger and Anstead, who have been together since 2021, denied the allegations last summer. In a new twist, the landlord filed a cross-complaint in October, arguing that Anstead—listed as the sole leaseholder—was responsible for maintaining the property. While Zellweger was not officially on the lease, court filings state she frequently stayed at the home.
