In an emotional sit-down interview, Sharon Osbourne has opened up about the moment that shattered her world—the death of her husband, rock icon Ozzy Osbourne. Speaking with longtime friend Piers Morgan, the 71-year-old television personality shared heartbreaking details about Ozzy’s final days, their last conversation, and the enduring love that defined their decades-long marriage.
The legendary Black Sabbath frontman passed away earlier this year, just weeks after his final performance in Birmingham. Fans celebrated his triumphant last appearance—seated on a throne and surrounded by his bandmates—unaware it would be his farewell. “He didn’t want to die on stage,” Sharon said through tears, recalling how Ozzy ignored his doctor’s warnings not to perform. “If you do the show, that’s it—you’re not going to make it through,” the doctor had told him.
Soon after that show, tragedy struck. Sharon recalled the devastating moment she found Ozzy at home. “He had a heart attack,” she told The Sun. “I ran downstairs, and there he was. They were trying to resuscitate him, and I screamed, ‘Don’t—just leave him. He’s gone.’ I knew instantly.” Despite desperate efforts and a helicopter rush to the hospital, Ozzy couldn’t be revived.

In their final night together, Sharon remembered an almost haunting tenderness. “He said, ‘Kiss me. Hug me tight,’” she said softly. “He went downstairs to work out for 20 minutes—and then he was gone.”
Ozzy’s passing left Sharon struggling with grief and loneliness. She admitted that in her darkest moments, she considered following him. “I would have just gone with Ozzy,” she confessed. “I’ve done everything I wanted to do.” But she found strength in her children, vowing never to inflict on them the pain she’d seen in others who lost a parent to suicide.
Today, Ozzy rests on the family’s property beneath an apple tree. Sharon visits daily, keeping a promise to stay close to him. “He joked that he wanted the kids to make wine from the apples and get drunk,” she shared with a bittersweet laugh.
Ozzy’s health had been deteriorating for months before his death, following a fall that fractured a vertebra and triggered a series of complications. “He was too proud to complain,” their son Jack explained. “That fall set off a domino effect.”
The family says they’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from fans around the world. “It’s been beyond anything we imagined,” daughter Kelly said. “The grief, the tributes—it reminds us how loved he truly was.” Sharon added quietly, “He never knew how much he meant to people. That was his humility—and his magic.”
