Ariana Grande is pushing back against ongoing scrutiny of her appearance, urging a shift in how society talks about bodies and health.
On Sunday, TMZ reported that Grande shared a promotional interview for the film Wicked: For Good on her social media, posting a message that read, “Discussing my body is harmful.”
Grande elaborated, “In today’s society, talking about someone else’s appearance, health, or how they express themselves is something we shouldn’t be doing. I truly believe it’s dangerous.”
Looking back on her own experiences, she added, “I’ve been hearing comments about my appearance since I was a teenager, but I had a strong support system that helped me get through it. I don’t welcome those kinds of discussions in my life anymore. I’m posting this to remind everyone to lead with love.”
The singer has faced speculation about her health and weight before, particularly during the promotion of Wicked: For Good, as fans and media compared her current figure to her past appearance. Grande addressed the concerns candidly, saying, “Back then, I was taking antidepressants, drinking, and not eating properly. I was going through the hardest time of my life. I may have looked healthy, but I wasn’t actually healthy.”
Beyond her music career, Grande is continuing to make waves as an actress. She is reaching global audiences with Wicked: For Good and is set to return to television in 2026 with FX’s American Horror Story 13.
