Hollywood actor Bruce Willis, who is battling dementia, can no longer recognize his own daughter. Rumer Willis recently took to social media to share a somber update on her father’s condition, explaining that people often ask how he is doing but that it has become difficult to answer. She noted that dementia patients rarely show meaningful improvement, yet added that for someone living with frontotemporal dementia, he is holding up relatively well.

She added that the only answer she can offer is her gratitude for still being able to hug her father, explaining that when she holds him, she feels the love she is giving him regardless of whether he recognizes her, and she is equally thankful to feel his love in return.
Bruce Willis married Demi Moore in 1987 and they divorced in 2000, and he later married Emma Heming Willis in 2009, with Rumer Willis born to Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.
Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia three years ago, a condition that affects behavior and language, and his health has continued to decline, with reports indicating that he is increasingly struggling to recognize his family members.
