At the ceremony held on November 19, the film received nominations in seven categories including Best Picture, Most Popular Film, Best Actor for Jo Jungseok, Best Supporting Actor for Yoon Kyungho, Best Supporting Actress for Lee Jungeun, and Best Music.
As of mid November, the film has attracted 5.63 million viewers, and the company noted that the award highlights the competitiveness and growth potential of webtoon based IP adaptations.
The original webtoon by Lee Yoonchang has captivated readers since its 2018 debut with its emotional story about a father protecting his daughter after she becomes a zombie, exploring themes of family, survival, and humanity.
Studio N has been praised for creating a balanced family film that blends comedy and drama while remaining faithful to the webtoons world and characters.
Studio N CEO Kwon Mikyung said that Zombie Daughter represents an ideal blend of webtoon imagination and cinematic immersion and added that the recognition affirms the narrative power of webtoon IPs. She also shared plans to continue expanding the studios portfolio of webtoon based content.
