Streaming platform Wavve announced that it will exclusively premiere the highly anticipated BL drama Thunderclouds and Storms, a series that has already built a strong and passionate fanbase.
Set to debut at midnight on April 28, the drama explores an intense youth romance that grows from an innocent connection into a storm of jealousy and possessiveness. Based on the popular web novel by author Chesim, the story follows cousins Lee Iljo and Seo Jeonghan, who reunite at their uncles funeral.
Director Min Chaeyeon, known for BL favorites such as Happy Merry Ending and Love of the Underclass, brings her signature style to the adaptation, promising a detailed portrayal of emotional complexity and psychological tension.
Yoon Jisung, who first rose to prominence as a member of Wanna One and has since solidified his acting career through dramas including Ill Be Your Night and Adieu Solo as well as musicals such as Return, Those Days, Something Rotten, and Happy Oh Happy, takes on the lead role of Lee Iljo, a man struggling after the sudden death of his father.
Rising actor Jeong Riwoo plays Seo Jeonghan, a chaebol heir who impulsively brings Lee Iljo into his home, setting the stage for a bond that darkens and deepens quickly.
The drama also features Hwang Seongyoon of The New Recruit 2, Jang Wonhyuk from No Secrets, and Lee Dongjoo, who is slated to appear in upcoming seasons of Squid Game. Thunderclouds and Storms will premiere with two episodes on April 28, followed by two new episodes each week for four weeks.
