Stray Kids has left a powerful impression with their music video teaser for “DIVINE” transforming into the legendary figure Jeon Woochi.
The K-pop powerhouse is gearing up to release their new album SKZ IT TAPE on Friday, featuring double title tracks “Do It” and “DIVINE”. In anticipation, JYP Entertainment has been rolling out a series of teasers across their official social media platforms, including trailers, images, mashup videos, instrumental clips, and the “Do It” music video teaser.
On the afternoon of November 16, the group dropped the music video teaser for “DIVINE”. Drawing inspiration from the classic Korean novel Jeon Woochi, the teaser portrays Stray Kids as divine beings leading a merry band of goblins in a lively spectacle. The visuals are a feast for the eyes, featuring ink wash animations that seem to leap off the screen and modern interpretations of traditional Korean art motifs like Ilwolobongdo and tiger folk paintings. This homage to the dark hero Jeon Woochi, combined with an addictive soundtrack and stunning visuals that blend traditional and contemporary elements, creates an irresistible allure.
The title track “DIVINE” is a boom bap-infused hip-hop track that promises to captivate listeners with its dramatic contrast between melodic top lines and intense chants. Fans can expect to experience Stray Kids’ unique energy, encouraging listeners to break free from societal norms and embrace life with the playful spirit of divine beings.
“DO IT” the inaugural release in Stray Kids’ new album series SKZ IT TAPE, features five tracks including the double title songs “Do It” and “DIVINE” along with “Holiday”, “Photobook” and “Do It (Festival Version)”. This latest offering showcases the group’s hottest and most definitive sound to date, with all tracks produced by the in-house production team 3RACHA, consisting of members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han.
Mark your calendars: Stray Kids’ SKZ IT TAPE “DO IT” drops on this Friday at 2:00 p.m. KST (12 AM ET).
