Hollywood actor Timothee Chalamet, 29, has revealed that he recently finished filming Dune Part 3. Chalamet and Adam Sandler appeared together at a Vanity Fair event held at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles on the 15th, where they discussed their careers and played basketball with attendees.
Chalamet, who arrived with a shaved head, said he wrapped production on Dune Part 3 only a few days earlier, and in a video shared by The Hollywood Reporter he described how meaningful it has been for such a singular project to become personally important to him, adding that he has grown alongside the sci fi trilogy throughout its making.
Their conversation drew attention because both actors are involved in this year’s Oscar race. Sandler is receiving strong praise for his performance as the manager of George Clooney’s character in the Netflix drama Jay Kelly, and Chalamet is widely viewed as a likely nominee for the ping pong themed film Marty Supreme.
Chalamet praised Sandler’s performances in Punch Drunk Love and Uncut Gems and said that Sandler should already have an Academy Award. Although Sandler’s work in Uncut Gems put him on many awards shortlists in 2019, he has never received an Oscar nomination, and it is notable that Uncut Gems co director Josh Safdie is also the director of Chalamet’s Marty Supreme.
Chalamet told Sandler that while awards are not the ultimate goal, he believes Sandler deserves to hold the golden statuette because he considers him one of the greatest actors on the planet.
Timothee Chalamet is currently in a public relationship with Kylie Jenner, 28, who is known as one of the youngest billionaires in history, and the pair has dismissed recent breakup rumors, with reports indicating that they remain together.
