The controversial YouTuber behind the channel Ex-Fan Detention Center, notorious for spreading false claims about IVE’s Jang Won Young, has once again received a suspended prison sentence in an appeals court ruling.

On November 11, the 1-3 Criminal Appeals Division of the Incheon District Court, presided over by Judge Jang Min Seok, upheld the original verdict, sentencing the defendant, identified only as A, to two years in prison suspended for three years on charges of defamation and insult under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

The court stated that the first trial had adequately considered all factors and found the sentence neither too harsh nor too lenient, thus rejecting appeals from both sides. The ruling also upheld an additional fine of 21 million KRW (15,750 USD) and 120 hours of community service.

A was accused of uploading 23 defamatory videos between October 2021 and June 2023, targeting seven major celebrities including IVE’s Jang Won Young, BTS members Jungkook and V, and solo artist Kang Daniel, reportedly earning about 25 million KRW (18,750 USD) from the content.
