Korean actress Song Ji Hyo, best known for her long-running role on Running Man, is taking a bold turn in the upcoming mystery occult thriller Savior.
The film follows Young Beom and Seon Hee, a couple who move to the seemingly peaceful village of Obok-ri in search of a fresh start. Their new life soon spirals into chaos when a series of miraculous yet disturbing events unfold—each blessing masking a devastating cost to others.
Song Ji Hyo portrays Seon Hee, a woman struggling with progressive vision loss after a tragic accident. In her desperate search for hope and healing, she clings to faith, only to find herself ensnared in a web of eerie occurrences that test her morality and humanity.
In a recent interview, Song shared what drew her to the complex role. “I was fascinated by Seon Hee’s transformation,” she explained. “Her longing for a miracle gradually turns into greed, exposing her flaws and vulnerability. Savior explores that universal human desire to experience the extraordinary—and the danger that comes when it consumes us.”
The newly released stills capture Seon Hee’s haunting emotional range: one shows her quietly praying in dim light, another depicts her touching a child’s face with trembling hands, and a third reveals her testifying in church with fervent intensity. Each glimpse underscores Song’s ability to convey both fragility and obsession with striking realism.
Savior opens in theaters nationwide on November 5, promising a chilling yet thought-provoking exploration of faith, miracles, and the human condition.
