A concert featuring various Korean artists has set tongues wagging with ticket prices soaring to an eye-watering 8.88 million KRW (approximately $6,420 USD).
My Daily reported on Tuesday that K-pop sensation G-Dragon is slated to headline the opening night of the MADLY MEDLEY festival, scheduled for October 18 and 19 at Paradise City in Incheon.
While standard ticket prices range from 118,000 KRW ($85) for a single-day pass to 248,000 KRW ($180) for a two-day VIP package, it’s the exclusive “1% ticket” that’s causing a stir with its astronomical price tag of 8.88 million KRW ($6,420).

This ultra-premium ticket offers a slew of perks, including main stage viewing, private entry and exit gates, unlimited booze, official merch, and coveted after-party access. However, organizers warn that main stage viewing might be restricted for some acts due to safety concerns. The real draw seems to be the exclusive after-party, featuring performances by ALLDAY PROJECT, Kim Chang Wan Band, Sik-K, and ESens.
Despite the ongoing trend of rising concert prices in South Korea, this stratospheric figure has left even industry insiders slack-jawed.

Some observers are chalking it up to a savvy marketing ploy targeting high-rollers with a taste for exclusivity. Insiders suggest it’s particularly aimed at deep-pocketed tourists from Greater China.
The MADLY MEDLEY festival, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last September with the tagline “A Festival for All Music Lovers,” has announced its initial lineup for October. Fans can look forward to performances by Kim Chang Wan Band, Kim Kwang Jin, and 015B, among others.
