The TVING original series Yumi’s Cells is set to return for its third season with star Kim Go Eun reprising her beloved role.
This new season will follow Yumi, who has returned as a successful author, and her ever-devoted cells as they once again navigate growth and, as always, love in this cell-stimulating, relatable romance.
Based on the smash-hit Naver webtoon of the same name, Yumi’s Cells received widespread acclaim for its groundbreaking blend of live-action and 3D animation—the first of its kind in Korea. Audiences fell in love with the imaginative concept of personified emotion-based “cells” working behind the scenes as Yumi eats, works, dates, and grows.
The series stood out not just for its originality but also for its relatable storytelling and inventive direction, particularly in the seamless weaving of Yumi’s real-world experiences with the whimsical antics happening inside her cell village. After two seasons that sparked a nationwide following, anticipation is running high for the new chapter.
Yumi’s Cells 3 reunites director Lee Sang Yeob with writers Song Jae Jung and Kim Kyung Ran, the original creative team behind the show’s runaway success. And at the heart of it all is Kim Go Eun, who perfectly embodied the character of Yumi.
This time around, Yumi, now living her dream as a published author, finds herself unexpectedly drawn into a new romance—one she didn’t see coming. As sparks fly, her once-quiet inner cell village bursts back into motion. Expect the return of fan-favorite cells like Love, Reason, Emotion, and Hunger, each with their own quirks.
Speaking about her return, Kim Go Eun shared: “It’s an honor and joy to continue Yumi’s story, which has received so much love. As an actor, I think it’s incredibly meaningful and special to portray one character over such a long period,” adding, “As much as Yumi has grown over the seasons, I want Season 3 to capture the turning points in her life. We’ve been on this journey together since 2021, so I truly hope we can bring it to a meaningful close.”
TVING has confirmed that Yumi’s Cells 3 will premiere in the first half of 2026.
